En este caso nos encontramos únicamente con un frontal con una marca de certificado “CERT.ON A MAD.”, aunque parece que la palabra final es realmente “MAD_D”.
Se indica el porte, una referencia a “Guia de forasteros” y va dirigida a Azpeitia, al Sr. Vicente Mª de Alcibar. Inicialmente no podemos datarla ni localizarla y tampoco tiene otros signos propios de los certificados.

Con todo, las posibilidades de que pertenezca a una población distinta a Madrid son muy bajas y pensamos que se puede descartar, pero además se hace una anotación “Guia de forasteros”.
En las páginas 515 y 516 tenemos una carta fechada en Madrid el 4 de enero de 1.790 que es la inmediatamente anterior dentro del archivo, dirigida al mismo destinatario y escrita con el mismo tipo de letra, donde se hace referencia a la guía comentada al indicarse “y ahora acompaña la Guia de forasteros con el estado Militar”.
Pensamos que dicha carta es la que acompañaba al certificado y por tanto podríamos prácticamente asegurar que es de Madrid y del año 1.790, fecha en la que se debería de catalogar.

La marca, claramente es de certificado, otra cuestión es si la carta fue realmente certificada, pues no vemos tomas de razón o las típicas aspas. Tampoco disponemos del recibí, solo al frente el porteo que pagaría el destinatario.
Con estos datos, entendemos que el cuño pasa a ser el primero de certificado conocido toda vez que hasta ahora, la carta con certificado de cuño más antiguo era la de Astorga en carta de 8 de mayo de 1.790, que se puede ver aquí.

[PE-82] INÉDITA.
Marca “CERTIFICon. A MADRID” coronada, en negro y con una estampación de lujo. Del Real Servicio enviado a Córdoba con fechador PE-102 en negro de 9 de diciembre de 1825, que en este caso se utiliza como fechador de salida a modo de toma de razón.
Al dorso “recivi” firmado por el destinatario.

Según PE, hasta ahora solo se conocía una marca de certificado distinta a la general. Con esta ya serian tres.

Parece que el certificado fue enviado por Luis Ferrer y Bonis, pues en la imagen 6 vemos un escrito del destinatario al citado Luis Ferrer en contestación a la suya de 9 de diciembre. También existen escritos fechados el 9 de diciembre en Madrid y dirigidos al mismo Joaquín Taverner y con letra muy similar a la del certificado (imagen 36).
En general, el archivo está bastante desordenado, pero como curiosidad indicar que existen varios documentos donde se hace alguna referencia a correspondencia certificada. Por ejemplo en la imagen 11, el tal Joaquín envía escrito a Juan Ferrer, comunicándole la remisión de una letra de 2.830 reales, “habiendole descontado 68 rs. que importo el requisitar y Certificar la carta” y en la imagen 64 se pueden ver unas operaciones que coinciden con las indicadas en el escrito anterior y donde se realiza una “baja toma de razón y certificado” de 68 reales.
