La mujer cartero ha tenido un papel muy relevante en la historia reciente,sobretodo en periodo de guerra....

In Britain payment for mail was made by the addressee until the introduction in 1840 of Rowland Hill's system of pre-payment by the purchase of adhesive stamps. In Germany this did not happen until after the creation of the German Empire in 1871.

Probablemente el cartero mas anciano,y no quiere jubilarse.....con 91 años,y 70 de cartero (64+6 en la marina)

El cartero de Van Gogh

Pocos carteros han tenido el privilegio, como es el caso de este amigo
de Van Gogh (que le traía las cartas de su amado hermano Teo) de ser
inmortalizado, en la obra de uno de los artistas más grandes de todos
los tiempos. El cartero de Van Gogh no podía faltar en esta galería :wink:.
