En el primer archivo (imagen 14, 26.jpg), tenemos una carta dirigida a Vergara desde Mondragón el 19 de noviembre de 1.772, que adelanta el uso del cuño en cuatro años.

En el último tenemos dos cartas fechadas en Vergara el mismo día 20 de octubre de 1.779, con mismo destinatario pero distintos remitentes, aunque ambos parecen referirse al mismo pleito. Estas atrasan el uso del cuño en un año. La imagen que adjuntamos es la 38 (74 y 73.jpg).
Así el periodo de uso pasa a ser de 1.772 a 1.779.

La ultima fecha que tenemos es de 3 de abril de 1809, es decir, no hemos visto ninguna de 1810, aunque es cierto que nosotros tenemos una gran laguna entre abril de 1809 y marzo de 1810 donde no hemos encontrado ninguna carta.

La primera fecha que tenemos es en carta fechada en Vergara el 10 de marzo de 1.806 con destino Bilbao y que por tanto adelanta el uso de este cuño en un año.

Comentar que en otros archivos tenemos fechas muy cercanas entre la PE-4 y PE-5, pero en este mismo archivo tenemos la coincidencia en el mismo día de las dos marcas, concretamente el 24/3/1.806, por lo que parece claro que se usaron indistintamente una u otra, aunque con mayor profusión la primera.

Adelantándome bastante a las próximas marcas, quería hacer una pregunta para saber qué hacer cuando llegue.

Según Tizón, el cuño nº 9 se conoce en 1823 y 1824 en NEGRO.
Según mis datos, que cuando proceda expondré, en Mondragón se utiliza el color negro hasta marzo de 1823 y a partir de abril de 1823 se utiliza ya el rojo hasta 1842, es decir, no creo que exista ese cuño 9 en negro en 1824. El cambio seguramente se dio en abril.
Añadir años a una marca es fácil, pero eliminarlos es complicado, pues es casi imposible saber si en algún momento se utilizó, aunque fuera de forma esporádica.

¿Alguien tiene o ha visto alguna carta de Mondragón con alguna marca de origen u otra en NEGRO en 1824?
También me vendría bien si tenéis fechas concretas de cartas de 1823 y 1824, y me indicáis el color, para intentar completar lo que se pueda un calendario.

Lo que tengo ahora mismo de esos años, metiendo la tuya, es lo siguiente.

Como veis, a partir de abril de 1823, solo hay cartas en rojo con un mínimo (pues puedo tener fechas repetidas) de 17 cartas en 1823 y 40 en 1824, por ninguna en negro. Como digo, me extraña que la 9N exista en 1824 como dice Tizón.

La primera fecha que tenemos nosotros es de 1810 en Pares, aunque es cierto que tenemos una laguna sin cartas desde abril de 1809.

Tenemos bastantes cartas donde ponemos interrogación, pues a veces es complicado distinguir este cuño del siguiente o no vemos la fecha claramente.
Dejaremos los archivos en el orden que tenemos e iremos comentado conforme nos aparecen las fechas importantes, si bien ya indico que la ultima fecha que tenemos de uso es el 14 de septiembre de 1817 con una imagen en blanco y negro, aunque existen bastantes más de dicho año.
Después tenemos otra carta que nos genera alguna duda y de otra fecha.

Por último, tenemos la siguiente carta que por fechas nos genera dudas. La marca nos parece clara y la fecha inicialmente le asigne 1820, aunque a la vista de lo anterior, pudiera ser 1810. La cuestión es que esta en una carpeta donde todos los documentos son de 1817 a 1822 y este a su vez esta en una subcarpeta de memoriales, órdenes y oficios de 1820. Personalmente me da la sensación de que puede ser de 1820, aunque me gustaría ver opiniones. No sé si el texto podría darnos alguna pista.

Esta marca se cataloga de 1816 a 1821, pero la realidad es que se empezó a usar mucho antes.
También hay que indicar que, según la catalogación de PE, apenas existe solape entre marcas, pero la realidad es que hay meses donde se utilizan hasta tres marcas distintas.
Al final adjuntaremos un calendario donde podamos ver los solapes.

La primera fecha que tenemos esta en la imagen 172, en carta de Vergara a Tolosa de 3 de octubre de 1813, lo que adelanta el uso del cuño en tres años.
Si genera alguna duda, pues la imagen es muy tenue (aunque pensamos que es esta marca), creemos que se acompañan cartas suficientes de este año y posteriores para adelantar las fechas.

En negro se cataloga desde 1821 a 1823 como rara (R).

La primera fecha que tenemos es de 12 de octubre de 1817, si bien la imagen es en blanco y negro y la impronta muy tenue, por ello ponemos la siguiente, en carta de Vergara a Asteasu de 5 de noviembre.
Esto adelanta el uso del cuño en 4 años y podemos ver como en septiembre y octubre de 1817 se usaron hasta tres cuños distintos.

En rojo se cataloga de 1823 a 1830, siendo escasa (E).

En realidad, esta marca en rojo tiene dos periodos de uso.
Uno primero que va desde abril de 1823 (la primera fecha que tenemos nosotros es del día 20), hasta el 20 de julio de 1831, lo cual atrasa un año el final sobre lo indicado por Tizón.
Un segundo periodo que va desde marzo de 1839 (posiblemente desde el día 27) al 5 de febrero de 1841. De este periodo no hemos visto ningún autor que lo haya nombrado, por lo que es muy novedoso.

Como en otras ocasiones, iremos marcando las cartas conforme vayan apareciendo en la siguiente relación.
En el siguiente archivo nos encontramos la fecha de inicio del primer periodo, aunque sea en una carta de la que solo tenemos medio frente. La adjuntamos, aunque no produce modificación de fechas.

La primera fecha que tenemos del segundo periodo es la siguiente, de 27 de marzo de 1839. Esta carta está fechada en Madrid y parece reexpedida a Durango (recordamos que estamos en época de primera guerra carlista).
Entiendo que es esta marca, pero como la imagen se ve regular, si alguien lo puede confirmar, mejor.

Como hemos comentado, este periodo es novedoso y según las fechas que damos, ocupa aproximadamente dos años, donde solo tenemos 9 cartas fechadas, pero hay que decir que todas se corresponden con este cuño.
Esto quiere decir, que posiblemente de esos años, no existan cartas en colecciones particulares. Por nuestra parte hay que indicar que en los archivos mengua mucho el numero de cartas desde el inicio de la primera guerra carlista, y por ejemplo de 1836 no tenemos ninguna.

Damos un salto y dejamos para más adelante la 9 y 10, pues me gustaría revisar algo más las que tenemos, que tienen algo de miga.

PE-11. 1839 a 1840. Muy rara (RR).
Nosotros no tenemos ninguna carta con este cuño.
Si hemos visto antes, que en estos años, tenemos 11 cartas, pero con la marca n.º 8 roja.
En su libro “enciclopédico”, los Hnos. Raya adjuntan una carta de 21 de noviembre de 1839.

Realmente esta marca ya la mencionan los Hnos. Raya en su libro, donde nos indican que existen dos cartas de 28/11/1841 y 11/2/1842. Aquí presentaremos otras que adelantan y atrasan esas fechas, aunque los años a catalogar se mantienen.
Esta marca está claro que se obtienen de eliminar la parte superior del cuño n.º 11.

La primera fecha que tenemos es de 30 de marzo de 1841 en carta de Motrico a Pamplona.
